Our Team

Joe joined the Texas State SBDC team as its Director in 2011 with over twenty years experience as an entrepreneur.  He has directed other SBDC programs at Southeastern Louisiana University, Sam Houston State University, Galveston Community College, Houston Community College, and the University of Houston-Victoria. 

Joe spends the majority of his time meeting with community stakeholders, funding partners and SBDC advisors.

Francisca Arana brings over 10+ years of experience to her role as Training and Compliance Coordinator at the SBDC. In her time with the organization, she has taken on a wide variety of responsibilities and proven herself as a versatile team player. 

She coordinates training programs and ensures regulatory compliance for the SBDC. She serves as a key point of contact for anyone looking to get in touch with the Director or learn more about the SBDC's offerings. With her deep institutional knowledge and willingness to take on new challenges, she has become an indispensable member of the SBDC team.

Orlando has cultivated relationships with an extensive network of lenders and specializes in matching client financial needs to available funding programs and funders. Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP), enjoys assisting Austin small business clients.
